We are excited to share a groundbreaking advancement in the world of laboratory robotics with the development of a connected digital twin. By combining NVIDIA's cutting-edge Omniverse platform, AWS's powerful cloud infrastructure, and Eppendorf's expertise in lab automation, we are shaping the future of laboratory work. Our next-generation cobot will become the ultimate AI assistant for scientists and lab members, enabling faster development, greater efficiency, and setting new standards for modular soft- and hardware in research environments. This marks the beginning of a transformative era in lab automation, full of innovation and exciting possibilities.

At SupraTix, we are excited to announce a significant milestone in our mission to revolutionize laboratory robotics by building a connected digital twin. By leveraging NVIDIA's cutting-edge Omniverse platform, AWS's robust cloud infrastructure, and Eppendorf's expertise in lab automation, we are developing a next-generation cobot (collaborative robot) that will become the ultimate AI assistant for scientists and laboratory members. This powerful integration will dramatically accelerate development, improve lab efficiency, and transform the future of modular soft- and hardware development in the scientific domain.

What is a Connected Digital Twin?

A connected digital twin is a highly detailed virtual replica of a physical system, such as our labcobot. Unlike traditional digital models, a connected digital twin continuously syncs with the physical world in real-time. This technology allows us to model, simulate, and optimize the behaviour of our labcobot with unprecedented precision, creating a seamless feedback loop between virtual simulation and real-world performance.

With the help of NVIDIA’s Omniverse, we are constructing a full digital twin of our robotic systems, allowing us to run highly detailed simulations, optimize AI models, and test performance without needing repeated physical prototypes. This ability to automatically train and fine-tune robotic behaviour in a virtual environment will be the key to building a cobot that excels at handling complex scientific tasks.

Advantages of Using a Connected Digital Twin for Robotic Development

Accelerated Development Cycle: Using a connected digital twin, our development team can rapidly simulate various lab processes in Omniverse, make adjustments, and deploy updates to the physical robot without interrupting operations. This reduces the overall development time and helps us bring innovation to market faster.

Automated AI Training: Instead of manually teaching our cobot to perform tasks, we are utilizing AI models that can learn from the simulated environment. This enables the cobot to practice and perfect tasks like pipetting, sample handling, or even complex decision-making processes autonomously. Omniverse’s real-time physics and simulation capabilities make this AI training more efficient and reliable.

Real-Time Optimization: Thanks to AWS’s cloud-based computing power, the connected digital twin can continuously gather data from the physical robot and its environment, providing real-time insights and performance analysis. With this data, we can make on-the-fly adjustments to both hardware and AI models, ensuring optimal performance in any situation.

Cost Efficiency: Prototyping and experimenting with physical hardware can be costly and time-consuming. With the digital twin, we can perform extensive tests in the virtual world, which helps to minimize wear and tear on physical components and reduces the need for expensive equipment during the early stages of development.

Scalability and Collaboration: By partnering with NVIDIA, AWS, and Eppendorf, we are creating a scalable platform for laboratory automation. Our cobot's capabilities are designed to adapt as new tasks and challenges arise in the laboratory. Our collaboration allows us to work with cloud-based environments for easier deployment across multiple labs and geographic locations.

Modular and Customizable: SupraTix is focusing on the creation of modular soft- and hardware solutions, enabling laboratories to customize their robotic assistants to fit their specific needs. With a connected digital twin, these modules can be tested and configured virtually, reducing downtime for installation and configuration.

Collaborating with Industry Leaders: NVIDIA, AWS, and Eppendorf

Our collaboration with NVIDIA brings the power of Omniverse, a versatile platform for 3D simulation and real-time collaboration, into the heart of our project. This enables us to build and refine AI models that are adaptable and robust in even the most complex lab environments.

With AWS, we are taking advantage of its secure and scalable cloud infrastructure. This allows us to manage and store vast amounts of data, including real-time data from our digital twin, while also giving our AI models the computational resources they need to evolve rapidly. AWS ensures that we can maintain high performance across the entire development lifecycle, from design to deployment.

Partnering with Eppendorf, a leader in laboratory automation, we are integrating cutting-edge lab protocols and best practices into our cobot's learning process. This ensures that the lab cobot not only performs tasks accurately but also adheres to industry standards and optimizes workflows in real-world scenarios.

The Future of AI-Driven Laboratory Automation

As our connected digital twin evolves, so too will our labcobot. By continuously training and improving in a highly controlled, data-rich environment, our AI-powered cobot will become more intuitive, precise, and reliable. The end goal is to create a robotic assistant that understands the nuances of laboratory work, from sample preparation to data analysis, freeing scientists to focus on discovery and innovation.

At SupraTix, we envision a future where laboratory operations are more efficient, collaborative, and intelligent than ever before. This development marks a major step toward achieving that vision, and we look forward to sharing further updates as we progress on this exciting journey.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build the future of laboratory robotics in partnership with NVIDIA, AWS, and Eppendorf!
